The Exerpeutic Aero Air is a bare-bones, minimalist elliptical good for one and only one reason: it’s outrageously cheap. Manufactured by Exerpeutic in 2012, the Aero Air Elliptical is an inexpensive elliptical system that relies on a magnetic resistance system to provide you with a thorough cardio workout. While magnetic technology translates to a significant savings in cost (especially when compared to electrical ellipticals), it does however tend to make the unit rather noisy.

That said, the Aero Air is best suited for individuals on a really thin budget who want to get in shape but can't afford either a gym membership or a costly professional-grade unit. It'll definitely let you get in shape, but it might also annoy other people in your home.

Despite the magnetic drawback, the Aero Air does still function like an elliptical. In particular, it offers a smooth circular motion that exposes your body to zero impact forces. As a result, its far better for your joints and muscles than conventional treadmill running.

Furthermore, it offers a space saver design courtesy of a compact 33(L) by 19(W) by 46(H) inch frame that weighs only 51 pounds. Yet despite its lightweight build, it can handle weight capacities up to 260 pounds. Just keep in mind that it hosts an average stride, meaning it's not ideal for either really tall (over 6'5) or really short (under 4'5) individuals.

Now, because it relies on magnetic tension, it doesn't use digital controls. What you get instead is a somewhat annoying tension "dial" that you must adjust manually by hand. Suffice it to say, it's not as convenient as just pressing buttons.

And though not based on electricity, this elliptical does include a battery-operated console for tracking basic workout details like distance traveled, calories burned, elapsed time and average speed.

Additional features include standard workout arms, convenient transportation wheels and extra-large pedals.

All in all, the Exerpeutic Aero Air Elliptical is optimal only for anyone desperate to lose weight without having to fork over large sums of cash. It's convenient, affordable and effective. Just don't expect it to last longer than 2 years MAX.
